Telecommunication Engineer

In PICOSATS we offer an agile working environment, in a highly dynamic sector such as the aerospace industry today, in which it is possible to interact both with innovative start-ups and with established and structured Italian and international companies, as well as with several universities with which there are long-standing collaborative relationships.
The context is young with a strong orientation to cutting-edge technologies and open to multiple research, development and innovation projects.
Despite the still small size of the company, the technical department can count on an already significant endowment of laboratory instrumentation, for the development of which further specific investment programs are planned.
Individual development paths with postgraduate training are also possible and encouraged.

Activities
This profile will be assigned to work on the development of satellite transceivers based on SDR architecture dealing with writing and maintaining the software that implements the protocols and testing the systems developed in the laboratory.

Knowledge
The following knowledge is preferred but not mandatory. All profiles will be evaluated, and the offer will be appropriate for the candidate experience.

  • Good knowledge of digital communications (Digital Modulations, Signal Theory, Signal and Channel Coding, …)
  • Good knowledge of RF systems architectures and theory (superheterodyne, SDR architecture, RF-sampling, …)
  • Programming Knowledge. Preferred languages:
    • C/C++
    • Verilog and/or VHDL
    • Basis of Python
  • Aptitude for teamwork is required

RF Electronic Hardware Engineer

Activities
This profile will be assigned to work on the design, development, and testing of high-frequency RF systems starting with requirements definition, component selection, chain simulation, laboratory testing, and PCB design.

Knowledge
The following knowledge is preferred but not mandatory. All profiles will be evaluated, and the offer will be appropriate for the candidate experience.

  • Good knowledge of RF systems architectures and theory
  • Good knowledge on basis digital and analog electronics
  • Preferred Experience with:
    • Software Spice simulators (LTSpice, Multisim, Tina, …)
    • Software for PCB Design (Altium preferred, Allegro, KiCad, …)
    • Software for microwave simulation (CST, Keysight ADS, HFSS)
    • Embedded C programming (Atmel Studio, MPLABX, ST Cube, …)
  • Aptitude for teamwork is required

Electronic Technician

Activities
This profile will be assigned to work on maintaining electronic components, procurement and stocking them in the warehouse. The Electronic Technician will also have to oversee maintaining and updating cad libraries of electronic components using Altium Designer software and designing small PCB projects to support the laboratory. This profile will actively participate in all the test and measurement activities in the laboratory.

Knowledge
The following knowledge is preferred but not mandatory. All profiles will be evaluated, and the offer will be appropriate for the candidate experience.

  • Basis on electronic components and electronic theory
  • Basis on electronic measurements and instrumentations:
    • multimeters
    • oscilloscopes
  • Preferred basis on PCB design
  • Aptitude for teamwork is required
